Jackson is THREE

Jackson turned three a week ago, but we just had his party yesterday.  It wasn't the big to-do that it was last year because we decided to make a tradition of fancy even birthdays and simple odd birthdays.  We will probably rent a bounce house again next year.  Thsi year we just did pizza, ice cream cupcakes and played with all his presents in the yard.  The biggest hits at the party were the giant bubbles and the parachute.  Jackson has also loved his new fire truck from Grandma Butterfield and his LeapFrog text and learn from Grandma and Grandpa Jackson.  We set up a little pizza bar for the kids and the older kids had a lot of fun with that but the little ones only wanted to eat it.

Jackson decided to greet hsi guests wearing Mommy's dress shoes

He convinced Daddy to spin him

The grownups huddled in the shade

He was a hyper birthday boy

The pizza bar....

One of the pizza creations....they weren't very creative

Tom and Grandma Butterfield were on watermelon duty

Instead of making a pizza, BElle just played with the cheese

Fortunately...most of is presents were in bags and easy to unwrap because he lost interest as soon as he opened a cool toy

Daddy had to help him out

The parachute was a BIG hit  The little kids took turns riding in it

Giant bubbles were another big hit, but they took a lot of practice

My homemade ice cream cupcakes topped with homeamde whipped topping.  They were a lot of work, but well worth it.  We even made our own cake batter ice cream for them.

Belle enjoyed her cupcakes in the shade

She REALLY enjoyed the cupcakes

I think Belle lieks the sand and water table better than Jackson does

And a random extra picture of Jackson cuddling with Daddy on the couch after church today..... SO cute in their matching outfits

Well, I think Jackson had a great birthday.  It wasn't as stressful for me as last year, but everyone still had fun.  Now to start planning for Belle's.  I can already see that winter birthday's are going to be more complicated.
