The membership was SO worth it

In case you weren't aware, we bought a Zoo membership this year.  We have been several times, enough to make it worth it anyhow, but today was the icing on the cake.  Tom has his statistics test this morning.  Jackson and I dropped him off and went to the zoo.  We got there before it opened and practically had the place to ourselves.  We got to see them train the mommy and baby elephants (Jackson happily watched that for about 20 minutes from a perch on the rail because there weren't other people in our way).  We got to see the cougars and feed the ducks 2 handfuls of dog food.  Jackson tried to eat it, but once he realized what he was supposed to do with it, he had fun throwing it.  I think the highlight of his day, though was the snow leopard.  There were 2 other people there, so Jackson was up front, right behind the glass.  The leopard just paced back and forth right in front of us.  On our way back to the front from the snow leopard he kept yelling, "Like cat!  Like cat!"  It was too cute, he watched it so quietly that I wasn't sure he was interested, but evidently he loved it.

Since it wasn't crowded AT ALL, I let him run pretty free.... he loved it and squealed with joy as he ran ahead of me.  Sometimes I had to herd him with the stroller to get him to go where I wanted but he didn't mind.

He stopped to watch the chickens and turkeys in that fenced area to the left

We got to see the elephants be super cute up close

It was one of my favorite parts...

Baby Zuri was adorable and playful

Jackson loves to "help"

We passed 4 of these on our way to see the cats.  He had to stop at each one, grab the bar and shake it until I said, "Jackson... 1... 2... " and then he would finally move on to the next one

Jackson's favorite part: being so close to the "tat tat" that paced back and forth and back and forth

We got to spend a lot of personal time with the leopard
