First off, here is what the Easter bunny left us...
all of our baskets
Jackson's basket
Jackson wasn't nearly as excited about his basket as I had hoped...
At one point he figured out how to open an egg and found the marshmallows. He was super excited and didn't quit until all the marshmallows from that egg were gone. He got so sticky that he later had plastic Easter grass stuck to his hands and got upset that he couldn't get it off.
Now for the hunt. Jackson isn't walking by himself yet. Daddy held his hand and walked him around. He would show him an egg and he would pick it up and drop it in the bucket, well... with some prompting. By the end of the hunt, he was pretty good at it.
Here are the special eggs Tom and I made using silk ties. We were very happy with the results. What do you think?
Tom's silk tie egg

Wow, those eggs are awesome. How do you do silk tie eggs?
ReplyDeleteTightly wrap the egg in a piece of silk tie (design in), then in a piece of white/cream cloth and tie or rubberband or whatever to keep it all in place. Put them in a pot, cover with water, add 3 tablespoons vinegar. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 20-30 minutes. Cool and unwrap. For shiny eggs, rub with vegetable oil.
ReplyDeleteVERY cool--I love the tie eggs. Looks like you guys had a fun Easter!
